How To Get There In London

London city being the center of all activity in the United Kingdom has sound infrastructure and is connected to all major places in the world. The city is served by three major airports - Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted. There are two more airports, though smaller in size, namely Luton and London City. Even rail services across the city are well developed and so are ones connecting London to other places. There are a number of Central mainline stations here that include London Bridge, London Paddington, London Euston and more importantly London Waterloo and London Victoria. The London Subway network is the first ever in the world and is a major connector within the city.

If you are new in London, then traveling to the desired destination might pose a problem. While coming to London by rail is easy because when you reach you are in central London, arriving by air can be quite problematic since there are too many convolutes options that you can avail of.

Reaching Central London from Heathrow Airport can be achieved in several ways. The tube is a good option to get to the heart of London, but it remains crowded perpetually and may not be the best in terms of comfort. The Heathrow Express, a quick rail line, can be more effective in this case as it will deliver you at Central London in 15 minutes flat. Travelling by bus might not turn out to be the best of ideas if you are new in the city and taxis can be really expensive. But if you want a trouble free journey from the airport you should take the Heathrow Express and also avail the taxi where absolutely necessary.

A number of options are also available from Gatwick airport the best being traveling by train. By train you can access either the London Bridge or the London Victoria and then the taxi is always there. But as an option the bus is cheaper while you can hire a taxi if you are carrying a lot of cash.

Coming to the heart of London from Stansted is not a problem since here, too, there are many options that you can experiment with. But trains and taxis are regarded as the best ones since the former frequent the different centrally located areas and the latter is a winner in terms of comfort and assurance.

From the smaller airports of Luton and London city train services are available that will deliver you safe and sound. From Luton trains take you directly to London Bridge and London Kings Cross Thameslink. Buses can also take you to central London from Luton. If you intend to come to Central London via the London City airport then nothing like it since this is the only airport that is located close to the main city. A bus can take you to the Liverpool Street mainline station from where you can switch options according to your personal requirements.

Reaching the main city is not problematic from any of these airports but it is always best to conduct a thorough research about all the available options.
